State Ambassador for Missouri – Women On Wheels®
My name is Annette Bollig and I am the current Missouri State Ambassador. I have been a member of Women On Wheels® for about 5 years. I live in Overland Park, Kansas, which is on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro area. I have been active in the Show-Me Riders chapter. I am the only active Kansas member in the chapter, so I travel to the Missouri side for most activities. I grew up in south central Kansas, but I love Missouri probably as much as Kansas. I have been a motorcycle enthusiast all of my life, but have only been a rider for about 15 years. I got my first bike, a ’84 Honda 500 Shadow while in graduate school, but had to put it aside for family/kids. At 40, I got back into riding with a ’83 Honda 650 Nighthawk. I have adopted a few other older bikes, ’82 Yamaha 650 XJ and ’81 Honda CX500 with sidecar, that I still would like to see on the road again. My last regular ride was a 2012 Yamaha 650 V-Star, equipped with the sidecar from the older Honda. The summer of 2018 brought with it some unexpected changes to my life. My V-Star sidecar rig was forced into retirement and I did not know if I would ever be physically able to drive a motorcycle again. Thankfully, a year and a half later, I picked out my next ride, a 2017 Honda DCT Goldwing. The Goldwing has been equipped with a Hannigan sidecar and some extra LED lights for a little more “bling.”
I have missed the peace and relaxation I get from riding the open road and the camaraderie of riding with good friends. I look forward to exploring new roads and making new friends in Missouri. Feel free to give me a call or send an email if you would like to know more about Women On Wheels®, or just want to chat about motorcycles.
Life is all about the journey. Ride Often. Ride Safe.
